拍品信息
Some inscribed and dated in pencil, verso.
Vivian Maier (American, 1926-2009) Winter in France (33 works), 1951 Gelatin silver prints 7 x 5 inches (17.8 x 12.7 cm) and smaller (sheets) Some inscribed and dated in pencil, verso. From the Ron Slattery collection The photographs here, taken on Vivian Maier's 1950 travels abroad to the rural French village from where her family emigrated to America and the surrounding region, are her earliest known work. Already they show her dedication to her craft and her quickly growing confidence behind the camera. According to biographer Pamela Bannos, Maier was so insistent with her camera that some people in her family's French village thought she might be a spy, and she ended up being questioned by the police about her photography. Overall excellent condition. Most sheets measure 3-3/4 x 2-3/4 inches with deckled edges. Bumps to the corners and some sheets slightly curl. Sheets are loose, not framed.
