The figure of "The Heron Maiden" is a character made famous by Segawa Kikunojo II in a 1770 play. Another example of this print is housed in the British Museum. The present work is an lovely example with strong lines and colors. The condition of the work is consistent with its age. A few minor accretions primarily along extreme edges of sheet with some mild overall toning. Some adhesive residue along verso edges, some extremely minor skinning evident in these areas. Two areas of hinge tape residue on the upper left and right corners of the sheet. Unframed. No tears or losses observed.
