• Geiger elevates the oval to a meditative space of color.
• The reduction and concentration of color and form reached its peak in the late 1960s.
• A particularly vibrant work from this seminal creative phase.
• Orange and blue merge to form a glowing evening sun.
• Comparable paintings by the artist are in many important collections, including the Nationalgalerie Berlin, the Museum Folkwang, Essen, and the Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus.

In good condition, with vibrant colors. Some scuffing, particularly along the edges of the image. Two small, isolated scuffs on the upper right edge of the image. A small scuff in the lower right area of the oval. The canvas has lost some tension in the corners. Scattered tiny brownish spots. Isolated areas of craquelure in the center of the upper red border area and in the upper left corner of the image, with tiny areas of paint flaking. The condition report was compiled in daylight with the aid of a UV light source, and to the best of our knowledge and belief.
