A Pre-Classic Stone Mask Guerrero, Mexico, c. 500-200 BC Dense, fine-grained stone, a gray-green color, rectangular with a face carved in relief on one side. Features include a prominent brow and nose bridge, slit "coffee-bean" shaped eyes and mouth, and puffed cheeks. Perforated through all four corners for attachment. In very good condition, erosion and loss to the lower left corner, erosion and minor loss to left cheek and nostril. Provenance: Arte Primitivo Gallery, New York, NY Ex.
