- Highly detailed portrait in exquisite colors and charisma. - Carl Adolf Senff was a German painter of the Biedermeier period, particularly known for his highly acclaimed portraits and flower paintings. - From 1816 to 1848, Senff lived in Rome in the circle of the Nazarenes. - Among the buyers of Senff's works were King Frederick William III of Prussia and the Russian tsarist family.

In good condition. Overall with craquelure, more pronounced in the outer edges of the image, where there is also minimal loss of color. Some small brown spots and traces of rubbing. A restored tear (approx. 5 cm) in the neck, with tiny spots of color loss. Some small retouched spots, particularly around the tear and along the outer edges of the image. The condition report was compiled in daylight with a UV light source and to the best of our knowledge and belief.
