- From his radical early years - provocative, ascetic, strictly vertical, unmistakable. - With his uncompromising linear aesthetics, Bernard Buffet developed one of the most influential styles in European Post-War art. - One year earlier, his work was awarded the Prix de la Critique in 1948. - His paintings are a powerful reflection of the intellectual world of the Parisian existentialists. - The artist’s works are held in renowned museum collections, including the Kunstmuseum Basel, the Tate Gallery in London, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Accompanied by a certificate issued by Céline Lévy of Galerie Maurice Garnier/Fonds de Dotation Bernard Buffet, Paris, dated November 6, 2021.

In good condition. A very small loss of paint in the upper right corner. Overall, there are minor retouchings, primarily along the edges but also within the image itself. Minor traces from the production. The condition report was compiled in daylight with the aid of a UV light source, and to the best of our knowledge and belief.
