• Emil Nolde uses a dark color palette to capture the ambiance.
• Emil Nolde is considered the greatest watercolorist of the 20th century, especially because of his emotional landscapes.
• From 1906 to 1907, Nolde was a member of the “Brücke” artists' group, and he joined the Berlin Secession in 1908.
Accompanied by a written confirmation of authenticity issued by the Seebüll Ada and Emil Nolde Foundation on May 9, 2025 (copy). The work is registered there under the number “Fr.A.2137” and will be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonné of Emil Nolde’s watercolors and drawings. In good condition. All in all discolored, colors slightly faded. In the upper right corner of the image, there are a few tiny holes, one of which is slightly larger. The edges of the sheet are slightly irregular. Isolated creases. The corners on the reverse side have mounting residue that shows through to the front. With a small tear (approx. 10 mm) in the upper left corner.
