8105 Zhang Shanzi, Calligraphy Couplet in Zhuanshu , 1933

上款：「鳳翎」即孫鳳翎，浙江嘉善人，著名中醫師。他好藝事，廣交當地文人名士，二十年代末，即獲經營書畫古董業務之鄉紳陳士帆父子介紹，結識借居陳氏「來青堂」之善子、大千昆仲，彼此往還密切，獲寫贈書畫頗夥。本聯以篆書寫成，鮮見於善子筆下，其稱謂曰「庚兄」，可知兩人同出生於一八八二年。

8119 Zhang Shanzi, A Family of Tigers , 1939

善子與左樹棠同籍四川，又屬舊交，異地相遇，份外親切，故在巴黎過訪左氏，在其寓所即席精繪本幅，以敍舊誼，又或兼答謝其捐助支持。畫中草澤長葦細而含勁，旁綴紅花，老虎一家四口置身其中，前方幼虎一雙，或調皮地輕嚙其母尾巴，或與母細語呢喃，母虎一臉温良，眼神柔和關切，似在低聲嘮叨，虎父體型碩大，從後迎上。畫家處理手法與為抗戰宣傳之作迥異，筆下雖為猛獸一家，卻絲毫不見兇相，以擬人化之手法，如狀一家之日常，天倫歡聚，故上題「閤家全慶」，寄寓友人一家和睦安康之祝願。寫來維妙維肖，型神兼備，無乃得益自多年養虎之功，日夕觀察所得之體會。他取細絹出之，畫面呈方型，長寬逾三尺，不論材質、尺寸、構圖，皆筆下鮮有，尤以異地即席精心繪製，實屬稀見！寫畢，一直保存左氏家中，五載前方面世，殊為難得。
