PROVENANCE: From the artist; to Michael Hoffman, first executive director of Aperture and Cofounder (with Hazel Strand) of the Paul Strand Archive; by bequest to his daughter Sarah Warren Hoffman. In 1954, Paul Strand and his wife Hazel spent three months on the rugged island of South Uist, in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. Strand's beautifully sequenced photographs depict the perfect complicity he saw between nature and habitation in this wild terrain.
Overall excellent condition. Some edge chipping. Sheet is hinged to a window mat and framed under acrylic measuring 19 x 16 inches. Framed to Paul Strand's exact specifications.
