A Russian Creamware Plate from the Husk Service of Catherine II the Great Sergei Poskotchin Factory, Mor'e, circa 1830 9-3/4 inches (24.8 cm) PROVENANCE: Tom Walford, United Kingdom; Bonham's London, The Tom Walford Collection of British Pottery, December 18, 2012, lot 114; The Kathleen Durdin Collection of Russian Decorative Arts, Tampa, Florida, acquired from the above. On arrival in Russia, the Husk service was extended using faience from the Poskotchin Factory, whose works are signed L:O, which are for the "Otto" factory near Moscow, which produced works between 1801-1812. The remainder of the service in Russia is in the collection of Peterhof Palace near St. Petersburg. Wedgwood and Poskotchin models were sold abroad after the revolution, but the Russian augmentation pieces are exceedingly rare.
