拍品信息
Ron Galella (American, 1931-2022) Windblown Jackie, 1971 Gelatin silver print, printed 1976 10 x 6 inches (25.4 x 15.2 cm) (image) 14 x 11 inches (sheet) Signed and editioned 1/100 in ink, lower margin recto. Photographer's copyright stamp, verso. Ron Galella, a paparazzi photographer known for his obsessive focus on Jackie Kennedy, captured this shot on a windy day in 1971 after spotting her on the streets of New York and jumping on top of a taxi to follow. In a fleeting moment—perhaps not recognizing him—she glanced back over her shoulder toward the camera. Galella proudly referred to Kennedy as his muse, his "Mona Lisa," though his work often blurred the line between documenting newsworthy moments and invading the personal space of public figures. TIME has dubbed this image of Kennedy "The Most Famous Paparazzi Photo Ever." HID12401132022 © 2025 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved www.HA.com/TexasAuctioneerLicenseNotice
Overall very good condition. Sheet curls upward and the edges with some minor handling creasing in the margins. Bumps to the corners. Sheet is loose, not framed.
