Description
Outstanding, black and extremely high-contrast print, clearly marked in all linework and with a fine margin around the platemark.
The popular motif of the Mother of God in intimate affection for the child, against the background of a nocturnal landscape, was already much sought after during Dürer’s lifetime and influenced Italian artists in particular due to its monumental simplicity. – Faintly visible, smoothed traces of creasing verso. Isolated tiny brown spots, otherwise in very good condition.
