Takashi Murakami

1962 Tokyo
日本人村上隆于1962年2月1日出生在东京，是一个出租车司机和一个纺织品设计师的儿子。1980年，他进入东京国立美术和音乐大学，学习日本风格的古典绘画（Nihonga）。1993年，他在这里获得了博士学位。还是学生的时候，他也开始密集地参与漫画创作，并对日本动漫文化感兴趣。1994年，村上隆利用亚洲文化委员会的奖学金前往纽约，在那里他参加了P.S.1当代艺术中心的学习计划。
