拍品信息
Japanese School (19th Century) A Scene in Court with Two Little Princes, circa 1825 Woodblock print with gaufrage, embellished with gold mica, silver mica, and gold leaf 8-1/4 x 7-1/4 inches (21.0 x 18.4 cm) (sheet, shikishiban) PROVENANCE: Christie's, New York, October 27, 1998, lot 395. Property from the Nelkin Collection HID12401132022 © 2024 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
Christie's, New York, October 27, 1998, lot 395.
Print presents very well. Work is partially backed. The condition of the work is consistent with its age. Mild toning appearing slightly heavier around gold leaf areas, inherent to the medium. Mild handling dents primarily evident under raking light. Moderate accretions primarily evident along extreme edges of the sheet, particularly in upper corners. A few extremely small (1/8") areas of thinning/wormholes within in the secondary support, do not appear overly evident recto. Some skinning evident verso, appears to be to secondary support sheet; potentially backed again with a tertiary support sheet which has been partially removed as evidenced by lower right corner/right edge verso. Vestiges of hinging in verso upper corners. Unframed.
